The RAVEN® MATRIX™ is unquestionably the best value in centerpin reels. Designed with function in mind, it features a solid spool and backplate that prevent debris from entering the reel, and an ergonomic low-profile reel foot and backplate. Features an adjustable “coin slot” tension screw to make on-the-river adjustments a breeze.

Just bought this reel from a local distrbutor. WOW! Absolutely amazing!
Upgraded to abec7s and i just cant say enough about this reel. Plus having the removeable/adjustable screw is a genius move..love it!
I use it on a 9’6 light float rod for some smaller creeks and tribs in my area. Holds up great to small float setups and 8lb plus rainbow all day long. Keep up the good work Raven!!
Cheers from Ontario Canada

Live in WNY and fish Lake Erie tribs all winter. I’ve had this reel for 2 seasons now and handles everything I throw at it! Does good in freezing weather and I love that the reel is closed for the most part. Really helps keep sand and of stuff out of the reel. Only thing I wish is that the clicker was a bit stronger so when I’m not using I know it won’t move but I’ll still give it 5 stars because it’s that good of a reel in all other areas. Well done

very very good. Clicker is weak and could use courser sprocket or overall improvement.
otherwise excellent reel that easily matches the or trumps some of the more expensive reels.

I’ve had my Raven Matrix XL for 7 years. I’ve float fished the Salmon River for kings cohoes and steelhead. This reel takes a lickin and keeps on ticking. Breaks down easy. Clean up is simple. Well maintained, this reel is great for the cost…

This was my very first centerpin and she’s caught the vast majority of salmon, steelhead, trout, largemouth bass..etc., out of any reel I have to date. I have an Islander and a few other centerpins now, but I replaced the bearings on my Matrix and i honestly think she can compete.
